Symbolic

The Skull

The skull is a primordial biotic receptacle containing our intellect but also our vital force and, according to our belief, our soul. This peculiarity is that, around the world, since time immemorial, its materiality and / or altered forms remain sacred. We find in many cultures the fact that it keeps forever an imprint of the soul of its former host. It invariably represents a link between the terrestrial world and the next world.

We find in many cultures the association between the skull and the sky. The processes in our brain would be equivalent to the processes in the cosmos. Our reality would be somewhat fractal. Here are two examples:

In Scandinavian mythology, the skull of the giant Ymir becomes the sky when he dies.

In Rigveda, the essential text of ancient India, the skull of the primordial being constitutes the sky.

The Lapis-Lazuli

The Lapis-Lazuli represents among the Sumerians the sky. It was for them the "stone of stones", a stone which they venerated. This gem is also "a cosmic symbol of the starry night" in pre-Columbian America (CHGH)

Its particular color "creates around its owner an aura of tenderness and sympathy" (FLAM)

The Cloud

In ancient China, the cloud is the symbol of the transformation or the sacrifice that the sage must undergo to conquer eternity. Clouds rose from the tombs of the Immortals. They were ascending to the sky on clouds. (CHGH)

"Disciples, surrender perfectly to unlimited ether, free yourself from your feelings and dissolve your souls, be nothingness and have no temporal soul" Tchouang Tzu

Ancient Beliefs

In Wales, in the village of Llandeilo, there is a well associated with Saint Teilo. The water from this well is said to have healing powers. Until recently patients had to drink it using the skull of Saint Teilo as a cup (CHGH)

In Belgium, drinking in the skull of Charles the Good restored health to feverish people (CHGH)

If you find a Lapis lazuli in a dream, a situation will turn to your advantage (DERR, CANA)

If during a dream you argue with a third person about a lapis lazuli, you should not sign any contract lightly in the days following this dream (DERR, CANA)
