In the East, due to its exceptional longevity, the turtle symbolizes immortality. The slowness of his approach is evocative of wisdom and patience (CHGH)
The amethyst is a temperance stone. Its color is made of an equal proportion of red and blue. Balance between heaven and earth, sense and spirit, passion and intelligence.
Arcane XIIII of the tarot is named temperance. It represents an angel who holds in his hands two vases, one blue, the other red, between which a colorless fluid, vital water, is exchanged. The purple invisible on this representation is the result of this perpetual exchange between the chthonian red and the celestial blue. (Chthonian: relating to the infernal or telluric divinity that is to say underground in Greek mythology)
"The amethyst is purple like a drop of red wine, or like a rose colored by the morning dew. It emanates from the stone a modest glow of flame mixed with red; it does not lose anything by being heated: it can then look like red wine. This stone has great virtues, as we learn from the books. Whoever wears it chastely will please God and men, the devil will never harm him; he will never see a ghost, will never have a nightmare , will not be beset by terrors or nocturnal creatures; he will never have an ulcer or fever. He will never die without confession and his wealth will increase. His lord will never hate him, he will defeat his enemies, will not be never betrayed or deceived and will never go to jail for a long time. He who worships stone will not have diminished eyesight and his complexion will improve. His horse will not be injured or bewitched; the animal will never be affected by colic, inflammation or angina "
