Techniques and Crafts:

The original frame is made of Argentium using the lost wax casting technique. All operations necessary for production are carried out on our premises: sculpture, foundry, setting and polishing.

The hazel or hazel tree is the magical tree par excellence. Since ancient times, royal scepters and magic wands have been made from hazel. These beliefs, although complex to trace, are widespread over time and over a large part of the surface of our planet. Among the Germans, the hazelnut tree is dedicated to the god Thor. The emblem of the medical profession, the caduceus, is a hazel stick surrounded by two snakes and surmounted by two wings. The examples are numerous.

Ancient Beliefs:

• Mercury and the hazel tree: In Roman times, Mercury received a hazel stick from Apollo which he used to calm the passions of men and improve their virtues (CHGH).
• Hazelnut Tree and Minerals: “The young hazelnut tree which has not yet produced fruit naturally leans towards the mineral veins” (ROLL).
• Protection of the House: “We recommend planting a hazel tree near the entrance to a house to protect the serenity of the home” (DERR).
• Hazelwood Amulet: “Wearing an amulet made of hazelwood protects against quarrels in a couple” (DERR).
