Lapis Lazuli is hand sculpted by our talented lapidary and glyptician artisan using diamond tools. The ring setting is first sculpted in wax, then made in Argentium using the lost wax casting technique. We carry out all stages of creation in our premises: sculpture, foundry, setting as well as polishing.

Symbolic:

The Beetle:

In ancient Egypt, the scarab was the symbol of the solar cycle as well as resurrection. It represents the sun reborn by itself, the cycle of day and night. Symbolizing the principle of eternal return, it was worn as an amulet (CHGH). In the Gothland region (Sweden), it bears the name "Thorbagge" (Thor's insect) because it was dedicated to Thor (CHGH).

Lapis Lazuli:

Lapis Lazuli represents the celestial vault to the Sumerians. For them, it was the “stone of stones”, a revered stone. This gem is also "a cosmic symbol of the starry night" in pre-Columbian America (CHGH). Its very particular color “creates around its owner an aura of tenderness and sympathy” (FLAM).

Ancient Beliefs:

  • If you find Lapis Lazuli in a dream, a situation will turn to your advantage (DERR, CANA).
  • If in a dream you argue with a third person about a Lapis Lazuli, you should not sign any contract lightly in the days following this dream (DERR, CANA).
  • The beetle contributes to longevity and protects against serious incidents (DERR).
  • In Sweden, putting a beetle back on its legs atones for 7 sins (JONE).
